New years eve

As the new year approaches our days get longer and the fight continues. I write you this morning from my moms bedside. She knows I write and often asks what I write and who we hear from. I've never seen a braver person than the woman lying in front of me. She has her oxygen tube blocking some of her face, her new feeding tube on her nose, and yet looks more beautiful than ever. Guests comment on her glow and how fabulous her hair looks. As exhausted as she is she fights like a soldeir. Fights the discomfort and labored breathing.

We, being the family we are, have taken over the waiting room and broken the 2 person admittance rule a million times. The woman is loved. Her brothers, sisters, brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and dear dear friends are here non stop without fail and with no thought.

Right now she is resting. She had radiation this morning. She is now getting her food through a tube because it's hard to swallow.

The fight continues. We route for her like the niners in the superbowl. Go team Laura.

Dana, again thank you for the blog. You will probably get tired of hearing from me but I want you to know how loved Laura is by me. I don`t know if you know this but Laura and I played together and know each other from 3rd grade on. Even back then she made such an impression on me that when she was walking up my steps for Ron to have me meet her I knew it was her! I had remembered here from back then. I ofter know see here running down Cutting Blvd. on the other side of the street for us to meet and play. Love you Dana and tell your brothers I love them to. Thanks again for the blog. It means so much. You are truly your monthers daughter.

    Love and prayers(constantly)to you all
    Aunt Pattie

Laura was a second mom to my Lauren just as she is mom to sooooo many other fortunate kids...they are better people for having her as an influence in their lives...as parents, we were lucky to have the piece of mind that our children were safe and loved...I would not be the mom I am today without Laura as an inspiration and a pillar of strength...All of my prayers and hope for a bright future go out to all of you.

    Love, Debi and Lauren

Laura is an amazing woman! And like Debi said above, she also was a second mom to Tyler. It was very comforting to know that during the time I work, a woman who not only raised 3 awesome children of her own, but many others. The amount of advice that Laura gave me over the years was what helped me become the Mom I am today. I have so much to Thank her for. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
    Love, Chrissy and Tyler
